1. Introduction

Nexu App Studio ("we", "us", "our") operates the Nexu Scanner Android application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it. The App is available to general audiences and is not specifically directed toward children.

We are committed to transparency. The core design principle of the App is that your documents, images, scans, and QR history are processed and stored locally on your own device. The App does not upload your content to our servers.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy before using the App.

2. App Overview

Nexu Scanner provides the following on-device functionality:

All scanning, OCR, and file-processing features are performed locally on your device. Based on a technical audit of the application, no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are integrated into the App.

Certain scanning features use Google ML Kit components that support on-device processing where applicable. The exact behavior and processing capabilities may depend on the relevant Google ML Kit component version and device configuration. Certain scanning and OCR features also use AndroidX CameraX. These are on-device processing components, not advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. Based on the audit evidence, the App does not transmit user content to any server.

3. Information We Process

3.1 Data You Provide Through App Features (Processed and Stored Locally)

Data Type How It Is Used Where It Is Stored
Camera images When you use the camera to scan a document or a QR/barcode, the camera feed is processed in real time to detect and capture content. On your device
Images and photos If you import an image from your gallery, it is processed locally for scanning, OCR, or PDF creation. On your device
Files and documents The App creates and stores scanned images and PDF documents at your direction (e.g., saving a scan or generating a PDF). On your device
QR/barcode scan history When you scan a QR code or barcode, the scanned content may be saved in the App's on-device database so you can view or reuse it later. Scanned content can include text, URLs, WiFi network details, or other data encoded in the code. On your device (app-local database)
App preferences and settings Basic in-app settings (e.g., default naming, display preferences) are remembered so your preferences persist between sessions. On your device
